Correct me if I am wrong, but you have just turned 18 and you’re thinking about getting your first credit card. Probably you have already applied to for a number of different banks but they didn’t seem that eager as you to give you one, so now you are asking yourself what exactly you are doing wrong and what can you do to fix this problem, since accepting defeat is not even an issue.

First of all don’t worry, you’re not alone, there are a lot of responsibility seekers out there and they’re dealing with the same problem as you are, so don’t panic, you are probably doing what everyone else is doing, being so excited with this event that you just cannot stop to think this true. Luckily for you, I’ve been there, done that (yes, I made the same mistakes) and now I am going to tell you what you should start doing, as of today:

1. Target just a few companies that have a history of giving credit cards to first-timers. This kind of information is easy to reach, search online, ask your older friends, you can do it.
2. Wait until you get into college, the probability of being accept is much higher
3. Don’t forget that you need to have a stable income so go out there and get yourself a job, but keep in mind that you still need someone to co-sign for it
4. Last but not least,  choose a credit card for moderate or limited credit because you are most likely to be denied since you probably don’t have a big credit score

That’s it. Now I’m sure you are probably asking yourself why in the world you didn’t think of this before. Well now it doesn’t matter, go out there and get yourself a credit card.
